Course Overview
The Visual Testing course is designed to train professionals in the principles and practices of visual inspection for detecting surface defects and discontinuities in welds, castings, forgings, and fabricated components. This comprehensive program covers fundamentals of light and vision, inspection techniques, and practical applications in industrial quality control.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the fundamentals of light, vision, and imaging
- Identify various weld discontinuities and defects
- Perform visual inspection of welds, castings, and forgings
- Assess compliance with codes and standards (ASME, AWS, etc.)
- Document and report inspection findings
- Prepare for ASNT Level I, II, III certification examinations
