Course Overview

This course is designed to make fresh mechanical engineers more confident in production, quality, and design roles. The structure is strongly industry-oriented, with approximately 70 percent practical exposure and 30 percent theory aligned with real fabrication, inspection, code, and standards requirements.

Training Course Objective

  • Introduce the working responsibilities of major departments in industrial projects.
  • Build practical awareness of welding, forging, casting, and inspection activities.
  • Develop understanding of QA/QC responsibilities in fabrication and manufacturing environments.
  • Bridge the gap between classroom engineering knowledge and actual industrial quality systems.

  • Introduction to industrial departments and role responsibilities
  • Introduction to welding, forging, and casting with industrial exposure
  • Role of quality control in forging, casting, and welding operations
  • Design requirements for pressure-containing and structural welding as per ASME, AWS, API, and ISO
  • Preparation of WPS, PQR, and WPQ documents as per ASME codes
  • Inspection of plate, pipe, casting, and forging at raw material stage including MTC review
  • Setup, in-process, and final inspection as per inspection test plans
  • Introduction to conventional NDT methods and advanced PAUT and TOFD techniques
  • Introduction to heat treatment processes, temperature setting, and chart review
  • Introduction to ISO management systems and documentation control
